Sameness-as-fairness is a work habit — not a verdict on you.
50–65 minutes · 7 lessons · Voluntary learning

Voluntary. No score. A floor title in People, Access and Culture. Three values kept distinct.
Denial, Polarization, Minimization, Acceptance, Adaptation — what each does with difference.
Common humanity is not the error. Using it to skip structure is.
Front desk, data, hiring, family, and a toolkit attached after the vote.
Naming difference can become us-versus-them. That is not Acceptance.
Acceptance comprehends difference. Adaptation shifts the frame and the behavior.
One live process. Notice without ranking. Change one thing — or name why you will not.
Bring one live work object into the application workspace. Name who it was built for, who may carry the burden, and one change or formal escalation.
Minimization is not a personal verdict. At the Minnesota Department of Human Services, it is a work habit: we treat everyone the same, and we call that fairness. The Equity Policy asks for something else — an equity lens, and an organization that is intercultural as well as antiracist. This course does not score you. It shows what sameness-as-fairness does in a packet, a hire, and a front desk — and what it looks like to notice difference without ranking people, then to change the work. You choose how far to go. The continuum is a map, not a test.
This course does not score you. If a word names something you recognize in the work, that recognition is yours.
Use this aid while applying What Minimization Does in DHS Work to a live DHS work object.
Bring one live work object into the application workspace. Name who it was built for, who may carry the burden, and one change or formal escalation.
Participation and course completion in this program do not count toward DHS-required training credits unless management, a director, or DHS leadership expressly approves an exception.
Conceptual map of Denial, Polarization, Minimization, Acceptance, Adaptation. This course does not administer the IDI and does not score anyone.
Antiracist, multicultural, and intercultural organization. Equity lens on actions. Toolkit required. The duty this program resources.
Equal protection in public services is not the same as one identical channel. Evidence, not this course.
The shared method — Adaptation in a packet. Use when the work lasts or needs leadership approval.
