Curriculum I · Intercultural
Notice difference without ranking it — and without pretending everyone is the same.
50–65 minutes · 8 lessons · Voluntary learning

The floor named Minimization. Acceptance is what the map says comes after sameness-as-fairness.
Deep noticing. Not agreement with every claim. Not a ranking. Not yet Adaptation.
Culture, language, disability, race, place, and role actually change how a workday lands.
Ask about the process. Do not make a colleague a field trip.
The core drill. A portal, a meeting, a hire — name the default person.
Acceptance notices many kinds of difference. It does not collapse race into “only culture.”
A Minimization-default room hears “who” as “you are bad.” Polarization is the other ditch.
If you only notice, the portal stays. The next course is the shift.
Bring one live work object into the application workspace. Name who it was built for, who may carry the burden, and one change or formal escalation.
Acceptance is the next step after Minimization. Not a score. A work habit: you can notice difference without ranking people, and without pretending everyone is the same. Sameness-as-fairness hid who a process was built for. Polarization ranks who is evolved. Acceptance names the who. It does not yet change the channel. This course stays there long enough to get good at noticing. Voluntary. The continuum is a map. You choose the next move.
This process was built for someone who can ____. It is harder for someone who ____. We are not scoring anyone.
Use this aid while applying Acceptance in DHS Work to a live DHS work object.
Bring one live work object into the application workspace. Name who it was built for, who may carry the burden, and one change or formal escalation.
Participation and course completion in this program do not count toward DHS-required training credits unless management, a director, or DHS leadership expressly approves an exception.
Floor course. This course is the next step on the map.
Adaptation practice after you can name the who.
Intercultural as well as antiracist and multicultural. Related, not identical.
