How to use this program

Start with Ask or Resources. Read a community brief when Minnesota communities or partners are part of the work. Use a learning path to create a checklist or plan for your own work, then review it. After using the available guidance, visit Support when the stakes are high, important questions remain, or another perspective would help.

Content

You can begin privately and at your own pace. Use the resources for a first review rather than asking a colleague, manager, or equity professional to explain the basics for you.

Sources and limits: each answer identifies its sources and any important uncertainty. Information here is not official DHS policy unless it is clearly linked to a current official source.

Growing your practice: use what you learn here to strengthen future work and recognize when additional guidance would help.

Responsibility for decisions: the responsible officials and partners continue to make decisions about policy, budgets, procurement, legal matters, personnel, and Tribal consultation.
